Project Brief
After 4 years, Nexxt Phase Research Alliance wished to re-brand their image to fit a modern and simpler approach. The client communicated that they wanted "sterile and subtle."
Solution
To keep it simple and subtle, a logotype was decided on to maintain a "scientific" personification without the cliché troupes. Given the unique company name using two X's in the branding, a scientific vial was discreetly placed between the two to be unique. The bold typeface and colors were chosen to convey cleanliness and a systematic approach to their research.
BRANDING
A harsh contrast was given to the identity to convey cleanliness and a systematic approach to their research as a company. From the bold typefaces to sterile blue; the whole identity is based around having a clinical feel. Research is all about rummaging through data to find presentable correlations, so abstract shapes and imagery are used to relate a similar notion.
The new Nexxt Phase Research Alliance logotype brings a bold appearance with slanted type to reinforce moving forward to the "next phase." The typeface is compartmentalized visually into sections to create balance. The unique identifiers for the logo consist of an arrow and liquid beaker hidden within the letter's negative spaces; all combined to support the meaning of the "next phase."

Abstract Shapes
Nexxt Phase's branded color palette aims to project a feeling of cleanliness, subtlety, & "scientific approach." Cobalt Blue and Timberwolf were chosen as the primary colors, alongside Oxford Blue for backgrounds and body copy. Amaranth purple fills the role of a tertiary hue to bring attention to specific keywords in the brand & data presented. The imagery for the brand consists of abstract shapes and patterns, inspired by the systematic approach to researching and compiling data.
Collaterals for Nexxt Phase involve a contrast between the Cobalt Blue and Timberwolf colors with abstract shapes incorporated into the design. The business cards have two opposing sides with similar elements, further cementing the concept of contrast in the brand.
